John, i've been reading your posts on DSMtuner for a while. and i'm starting to think that my Torque Converter is bad. i have an automatic transmission 99gst eclipse and have HKS intake, Dual N1 exaust, downpipe, UICP, BOV and currently running 17psi. it's just that i don't feel the horse powers going to my wheels right. most annoying thing of all is everytime i slow down the car to about 20mph and acelerate again, there is a delay in torque delivery for about 2 seconds. i can feel all the power in my crank but just not in my wheels. i asked one of the mechs i know around here and he said i need a high performance TC to fix that. my question is, is it true? if so, what kind of TC do i need?.. like stall speed wise. will i need a customized one? when some people say too high stall speed TC is not suitable for street drving does that mean it peels out too fast? or what does it mean? because my car right now is not launching out as fast as i think it should. don't have my exact 1/4 score in numbers yet.

what do you think i should do. it's annoying the hell outta me.

yeah i wrote johnny an email... and he said to give him a call . it might just be easier to describe it to him on the phone. :)

After I talk to you, we can post what we have come up with in case anyone else is experiencing a similar complaint.

alright, just got off the phone with John, coo guy BTW. :) he suggested that i check the trans fluid. it's possible that the fluid is low and it's causing it stuck in neutral before it shifts to different gears.

just another more elaborate explanation of the situation in case anyone who can relate themselves to the problem. when i slow down to about 15-20mph (NOT to a complete stop) and acelerate again from there. i can see the RPM go up and hear the crank working up, but there is a second or two of delay before the car actually starts acelerate. in between those two seconds, it feels as if i am stuck in neutral. while acelerating from complete stop or any other higher speed it works just normal.

good news everybody. what do you know.... the man's right. today i went in to get my doorlock replaced (it god knocked off by some car thief), and changed the oil and replaced the tranny fluid while i was at it. turned out that just like john guessed. the fluid was probably too low that caused the delay in transfering the liquid in TC. as far as i know since i got it back today, i haven't noticed any lagg at all. THANKS JOHN!! :thumb: i'll give you a call when i am ready to order a TC. i'll make sure i get it from you. :)
