How to make a 4" hx40 intake pipe that fits a 1g

After seeing many threads asking what to do to make an intake pipe here is the solution that I came up with.

Parts required (what I used)
extreme psi 4 inch 45 degree aluminum inter cooler pipe
***make sure you select correct size***
EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts

extreme psi 4 inch 45 degree silicon coupler

K&N 4" air filter

2 extra 4" hose clamps (k&n filter has one included)

Step one. Slip the silicon coupler onto the turbo and get it positioned so it clears both the upper and lower radiator hose. I had to trim about 1.5 inches off mine to get it to fit properly.

step two. Slide the 45* alum intercooler pipe into the coupler and mark its location. I had to trim mine about 3 inches to get the filter to fit.

step three. Install the air filter and tighten it all down with clamps

total time for the project is about 20 minutes. I will be installing a heat barrier to make sure the intake is drawing cooler air from outside the engine bay but that is a different write up.
