Adapter for Autometer mechanical water temp

I have bought an Autometer mechanical water temp gauge, and I find out two problems.

1- Since I live in italy, i can't find easily both 1/2" & 3/8" NPT taps.
2- In a 2g there is no hole to tap a 1/2" NPT Autometer adapter :P

So, I came out with this cheap mod. Parts needed:

- Cheap 35mm Radiator hose 1/8"NPT adapter
- 12mm drill
- Autometer 1/2"-3/8" NPT sender adapter (comes with the gauge)

Simply drill to 12mm the 1/8" (to allow sender to be inserted) port and get the sender adapter welded to it (both are aluminum).
