This article will cover installing an IPO propane kit on a 2g.
The kit comes with everything you need except the propane tank itself and a few misc items.I picked up a #5 tank at home depot.
The first thing to do is figure out where you are going to mount the tank. I chose to pull a panel off and secure it here.
I ran all the lines an wiring under the carpet so the install is clean. Then only thing you can see is the fuel line for the propane but the only place you see it is right by drivers door. You will need to mount Hobbs switch somewhere in the engine bay near a boost source becuse the switch is set to let propane in at 10psi(but it is adjustable from 7-14). You will also need to buy an adapter to put a barb fitting on the end of the switch so the vaccum line will install. I got a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter and 1/4 barb fitting from home depot. Another choice is to drill and retap the fitting.
Next is drilling and tapping the IC pipe. Get a 1/8 NPT tap (Just like for an EGT gauge) and drill and tap into the TB elbow.I put mine on back so you can't see it.
Once you have all the lines run and the power and ground hooked up you are ready to begin. Once you have the tanked filled set the tank pressure to 85psi. The completely close the High pressure needle valve. Start off with 1/2 turn open and the open is more if you feel you need more propane.
Remember you must lean out your fuel across the board or the car will very run too rich and stumble or stall. I suggest taking down your non-propane settings in case you run out of propane and need to richen back up until you can fill the bottle again.
You must also run a hose from the relief valve outside the car incase the tank pressure ever gets to high and has to release some propane. In the place I hooked up the tank there are already lines running out of the car so that was convenient.
