How do i know if the rims fit??

Hey guys,
i got some BBS rims for like $40 bucks, thing is i couldn't measure them, they are 5 lug and i placed them on the car and they fit in the holes but the center seems a little small, is it that i'm placing them wrong or what?

How can i measure to see if they fit before i put tires on them?

i cant quite tell what your trying to ask/explain here.... Does the rim go on the whole way?

yeah they go in all the way but the center hole is smaller and it seems not to let the center pass trough all the way.

How are the rims measured? can i do it with a ruler???
