ok well last week i get to my car, unlock it, and go to open it and the panic goes off. so i press lock to make it stop and it doesnt do anything. nothing i pressed could make it stop. so i was jsut gonna drive home with it going off(i could still turn the motor on and everything worked fine) but i decided to end the noise and i pulled the + side of the batt off and put it on again. stopped the noise and i went home. well its been fine till i go to go to the store today and it does it again. WTF. this is pissin me off. anyone else have any problems with the remote entry doing this?

im thinking on having a aftermarket alarm put in, one that has it where if the top is down, if you stick your arm inside the area of the cabin the alarm goes off, so nobody rips at your seats and such. would that alleviate this stupid problem? should i change the batteries in my remote first and see what happens? i changed them after the first incident with other ones from my remote on my other car(that i dont use), should i go buy new batts and see?

no i used the remote to unlock it. i was thinking on not using the remote, but its the only way i can unlock it. if i have it locked and try to unlock it manually, the key wont turn at all in the hole. but if its unlocked it turns fine. as i left my car for work today i locked it with the remote, as i got about 100feet away the panic starts to go off again. again nothing i do will stop it, so i must yank the battery wires again. great way to start a day of work. to add fuel to the fire, my fuel guage doesnt work. i put in the reverse guages, and i had no problem with the fuel side, i just trimmed some off the guages and they slid right in. you can move the needle up to where it stops, and thats where my fuel is at(i presume) and you can pull it down and itll spring back up to that spot. but i did alot of driving today and it hasnt moved. i know its ok on fuel economy but i know its not that good.

Start by checking the hood switch and the drivers door pin switch. If the door is open(or pin switch broke) the alarm module ignores remote input. The key cylinder in the door has a switch in it which should turn it off, when the key is turned to the unlock position, or maybe if you turn on the ignition(only works on some).Since you can't use the door cylinder, you must have something bent or binding, I would guess something connected to the door lock actuator.

Did you remove the needle?

no i had no trouble with the fuel side. i slid the guages right in. i checked to see if there was some of the guages binding on the needle but all seems well. im thinking on taking the guages off then taking it down and getting it fixed under my warranty. i think it covers it.

and to add more fuel to the fire, the panic went off again last night at 3:00 in the morning. so i had to run out in my skimpies, pop the hood and remove the battery + side once again. im getting good at it. but i didnt even lock it last night so thats weird too. could it be the actual module going bad?

oh i figured why i couldnt get the key to work. wrong one. i told my dad and he was like "hey they gave you this key too" and it has nothing on it, he thought it just did the fuel door and trunk lock but its the open doors key too. my first car with 2 sets of keys. so i tried it and it works.
