Yes, as the subject asks, has anybody ever refinished the stock Laser honeycomb-style wheels, or have any suggestions as to how to do so?

They appear to be rough-cast aluminum when looking at the finish. It's not smooth at all. Is this just the finish on it wearing/flaking/bubbling off of the wheels? Or is it actually supposed to be rough like that?

I've read up on how to clean/refinish "normal" wheels, but the Laser wheels look to be quite a challenge, and I want to get any tips or tricks I can under my belt before I start in on it.
