I dont know what kind of metal this thing is but its damn hard, i won it a while ago and i didnt really want to paint it, i like the polished look better, it seems like i have to sand through a layer of something to get to the part that i can accually polish, i have worked on it for about 10 hours and have about a 5x5 portion the way i want it, any tips? i have a dremal, buffer, and electric sandpaper also many grits of sheets of sandpapaer

Any time I pollish something I use a electric grinder with a buffing wheel and buffing compund. The compound comes in different types so you can go from a ruff surface to a polished one. It works great, I was able to pollish the frame on my motocross bike so it looked like chrome.
