Hey guys-

Ive got some extra time this week and I want to do something to my car. Im not really gonna mess with the performance stuff until spring- so right now its all cosmetic stuff.

I need a project to do this week. Im thinking about changing the interior LED's to blue or something. Maybe playing around with fiberglass or something. Its gonna be around 0 degrees all week so whatever I decide to do will have to be able to be done inside.

Anyone have any suggustions what I can do to give my car a custom look? (no painting interior parts.... did that in my last one). Ive got a XM roady that I need to mount. I might end up making a mount for it somewhere... any idea where I can put it?

I was also thinking about mounting something up by the sunroof controls, but I dont know what.

I dont want to just go out and buy a set of tail's.. throw them in and call it a day. I need something that is going to take me a couple days to complete- and still be ablet to drive the car in the meantime.

Any sugguestions would be awesome.

Maybe mount the XM reciever up by the sunroof controls? THat way you k nock out 2 birds with one stone. I think it'd look nice.

You shouldn't play with fiberglass if your inside with closed windows. What I plan on doing, when I get some cash, is goto a junk yard. Get a turbo valve cover and intake mani. Get an electric dremmel, shave the m both smooth, clean them up with a wire brush attachment and then polish them up real nice. Then gasket match the intake mani and install them both. I don't know if that would be a weekend project. But it's an idea. It would be time consuming. Could work on this weekend, and maybe a few more weekends. But when your done I think you'd have some pretty sweet looking parts. Thats what I plan on doing. Again I don't know if you could do it in a weekend or if you have the money to do it. Obviously you will need more to do it than just a dremmel and a wirebrush attachment. You'd need some sand paper too. And a few other stuff. What ever you do, good luck and post pics when your done so we can see it! :thumb:

I dont know, ive never seen one. If the dimensions seem as though they would fit, then it probably wouldnt be too hard. Just go to a junkyard, get a visor, and start playing around.

im sure it could be done... but do you really want to be reaching up to the visor every time you need to change the station? I was thinking about mounting my XM where the sunroof controls are and moving the control somwhere else, but decided it wouldnt be the safest idea. maybe Ill get a radar detector and turbo timer and mount them up there or something.

My buddy and I decided to make a fiberglass box for his audiobahn flame q's. Weve got a somewhat heated garage to work in... so we'll see how this turns out. If it turns out good chances are you'll see a couple more boxes for sale on here. :thumb: Im just afraid that If I end up being good at this, my car will be all fiberglass by the time Im done. My buddys already talking about doing his door panels over (hes got a 2002 Sentra Spec-V)

Anyways- thanks for the suggestions.

yeah me too. I saw a pic of it the other day and thats actually waht inspired me to want to do something up there. I cant put a SAFC up there though... cause I dont have one.. or have the need. We'll have to work on that this summer :)

Do the ground wire mod, don't buy the kit ($300CAD!!!) go to a local stereo shop pick up wiring and connectors, cost me under $100CAD including a upgraded battery post. I've done all the connectors (soldered etc..) just waiting for it to warm up a little before the install.
There is a FAQ on this mod on this site.
