Well, it just so happens I hit the a deer coming home. Well, now I need a new hood. Instead of just getting a replacement that looks like the old one, I was thinking about getting one of those clear euro hoods for my 2G. But, I cant find what I want. I am trying to find one that has the same shape as the factory hood (with the signiture eclipse hump on the left side) and one that is smoked instead of simply clear. The only ones I have found are clear and dont have the hump. If anyone has any idea of where to look, please let me know. Also, does anyone know what the difference is in the head light assemblys for a 95 and 97? (I think 97, when ever they made the slight changes to the cars.). Any help would be greatly apreciated.

If i were you, I'd look for an OE carbon fiber hood (ViS) because the lexan (clear) hoods arent meant to be driven with really. The heat from the engine will perminately fog up the hood. The clear hoods are for show use.

if you are really into the look of a clear hood and like how CF looks you could get something custom done with the cf hood to put some like a clear :dsm: symbol on it, just a thought I saw it somewhere

The lenses are truncated on the inner corner to accomodate the wider trim between them.

Much like this:

yea, id worry bout the clear plastic, imagine how much dirt, junk, etc gets thrown up while driving to end up on the underside, i see it as TOO high maintanence, i mean, you dont have to, but youd have an ugly ricey car then. i get tired and would be worry about not doing it, my vote goes for carbon fiber hood.

is it possible someday for some one to design a custom timing belt cover thatll clear that one hood that everyone removes the cover for?
