I'm wanting to polish my FMIC, how would i?

I'm planning on polishing my HRC FMIC soon, but i was wondering how i would go about it? is it alright if the dirty sand water gets down into the fins, i was told that as long as no water entered the endtanks everything would be fine? is that true?

Sand? Just hit the end tanks on that thing with a buffer and some compound. It shouldn't take much, it looks pretty smooth as-is. Don't even think of polishing the fins, though. You don't want any polishing compound inside the IC, unless you wanted to polish your rings and valve seats and guides. It won't matter much on the outside, it's going to be seeing enough grit to smooth down Rushmore.

well i usually wetsand when i polish, but my endtanks are really rough, the top and bottoms just need some polishing compounds but i wanted my endtanks just like that too, what grit sandpaper should i start with to get the endtanks smooth?

Aluminum? Get sanding screen, 600 or 800, and do it wet.
