ok, the thing that countrols the brightness of the gauges at night, when you turn it all the way to the bright and then turn it a little more, it will click, but nothing happens...is a light supposed to come on or something??

Thanks:dsm:

Check if it is for interior lights turning on when the door is open. (driver's side)

Like someone else said, it's just to hold in it place. When the switch gets old, I guess it would be possible for it to rotate on it's own so maybe they want to prevent that from happeneing.

Just guessing here...
does the factory radio (or anything) have a digital display? Could that detent position maybe be so that
you could have the headlights on in the daytime but still make the radio display bright enough
to be able to read it?

There's no mention of any "feature" on the dimmer switch in the Owner's Manual. Dome lights are controlled by the switch on the light, and the radio's display has a separate lighting circuit when the parking lights are off. When you turn on the lights, the dimmer circuit controls the head unit's lighting.
