installing turbo spoiler on 95-96...

Well I'll try this again since the last thread screwed up.
I just got my 97 turbo spoiler and was wondering how to put it on the right way. Is there any prefered methods of putting it on by experience? I just want to make sure that it's aligned right as it is on the 97-99s. Any input or pics would help. Thanks.

I should have written up a tech article when I did this. I will give you some general info that I can remember, look to my gallery for some pics. Basically, you're going to have to drill hard and far, and at angles.

1) Put the spoiler on the car and sketch an outline

2) Remove the plastic cover from the bottom of the hatch so the metal is exposed

3) Put the screws that come with the spoiler on the car inside the lines you made, slam down on the spoiler and the screws should make dents or scratches, this is where you will drill.

4) Create a hole on each dent with your drill, drill into the middle, and make little marks with your drill on where the holes will come out.

Then it gets kind of blurry from there, can't really remember. I do remember I needed gasket under the spoiler, so I put that in.

Last but not least, you will have metal shards on your car after you drill. DO NOT F*CKING TOUCH THEM! They will scratch your car and make rust marks which are unattractive. Spray them off with gentle water or something.
