Hey guys,

Does anyone have a flip out screen tv in the dash of their 2g?? I am really looking at getting a tv for my car, i just really dont wanna run into what i think could be a major problem.

Notice how close larry d's is if his shifter is in 3rd, Note: He had a short shifter at the time, I do not.

When the tv is out, does your hand hit it while shifting? I have just a regular din cd player and i cut it pretty close when shifting pretty hard. And i would HATE to hit my tv and make the screen get all messed up or something. Anyone have any experince with this?

Theres other places to mount... If it is flat enough, I can't imagine your hand ever hitting it, the same as your hand doesn't hit your headunit face does it? When mine is 'down' I do put it up B4 I race (rarely) but that just feels more comfortable, I doub't my hand would ever hit it.

Think about other places for a TV if this bugs you. My oppinion is visors are one of the best places since they can be moved around.

i have the kenwood touch screen tv and it has never been a problem with me hittin it and i think its plenty out of the way of the shifter but here is a pic of it i dont think u can tell that much from it but anyway here ya go

Why's that? Mine isn't undergoinng near as much work as yours, just a turbo kit. And think, I still need to fix my jacked up rear. I will get my Rdora kit on soon but, would still need to paint it. My car is far from 'done' Performance wise I will still need a FMIC (runninn a SMIC till then) and that wont be till after my body kit.

Well anyways, i bought the TV, i guess ill find out if it sucks after i Install it if anyone cares i got this one.....

Thats the same unit i was looking at for a while. Let me know how it works out. I still don't know if I can drop that amount of cash on that though, but maybe some day.

Here's mine. I replaced the rear view mirror with this 7.2" widescreen monitor. There's a camera mounted in the rear bumper which allows me to switch between viewing who is behind me and my PS2. Plus, with it angled downwars (instead of upwards in the dash location) there is much less glare.

very nice, i was wanting to get a camera to mount in the rear. Where did you get yours from and how much was it, thanks

Yeah I had the old Eclipse 7002 tv in my dash. The install was a breeze but in 1st, esp. 3rd, and 5th, my knuckles would smack the shit out of the controls. I installes a B&M short shifter and the problem was solved. I think my TV stuck out farther than most of the newer units, so you may not have a problem, but if you do, get the short shifter. :dsm: Here's a pic below. It was in my previous DSM, a 95 GS non-turbo. I also had a PS2 where the glove box used to be. (3 years ago, this TV was the shiznit, LOL)
