I have seen them on EVOs its a really nice chromed out head shield for the exhaust manifold. I think HKS makes it but im not sure, if you have ever seen 2Fast 2 Furious DVD on the special features for "Tricking Out A Hot Import Car" its one of the items they put on the EVO. I was just wondering if i could get a nice dress up thing like that.

Any chrome shop, and it'll turn wheat in no time. Better to go with one of the "chrome" powdercoats. However, to do it _right_ (that is, to shield the most heat) you want the _underside_ chrome, and the top surface flat black.

Racin' ain't about "pretty". We call that "ricin'".

I found out that, it is better to chrome it then powdercoat it. If you take care of the chrome and polish it about once or twice a month if will not fade or break up. We just did my friends and we have had it on there for about 4 months now and it still looks like we put it on yesterday and it is a daily driver. I'll post a pic of it when I get home.

Buy a new one from Conicelli and have member GSX4LIFE polish it for you. He has done a few and they look incredible.

I remember seeing something about a Titanium heat shield for our exhuast manifolds. It was from takata or some japanese company and it was made for the EVO III so it should fit any of our exhuast manifolds. Just search for like heat shield and it should come up.

i just imagine that it retains heat.
Which is what you want it to do at that point. The more heat [energy] into the turbine, the more boost.

As for removing the heat shield, do a quick search for "melted fan". Don't.

O, and the term I was seeking above was "straw", not wheat. duh.OMG
