ok....98 eclipse GST, when it was bought, it didnt have the key fob but had the alarm module for the keyless installed in it already, so a key fob was purchased and it works fine but when you hit lock the horn doesnt honk to let you know that you locked the doors....is this normal for this car or is there something messed up somewhere??

Thanks:dsm:

And the dome light will flash twice. You can get clever and run a horn off the flasher circuit. Normally, DSMs figure their owners are bright enough to realize if they've locked them up or not.
The range on mine is so short that I can hear the relays and door locks click when I lock or unlock it.

Yes.. I know this post is old... but I searched :thumb:

Where is the flasher circuit?

I want to hook mine up to either the horn or the corner makers. In parking lots I cant see my dome light flash and I dont really trust it to work right. I need that visual confirmation :thumb:

Thanks. -Nick

Well, if you're not close enough to hear the door lock solenoids click, you're probably out of range for the keyfob anyway.

However, you need to get a Haynes or

and track down the wiring. I think the relay for the anti-theft lives in the driver's footwell, so you'd vampire off that to a relay that'd trip the lights. I don't even want to think about what kind of isolation headaches you may run into.
