I have a 1g and the top rear corner of the window comes out of the track, basicaly the whole window tilts down toward the front bottom when the windows are going up. I took the door panels off and I couldn't figure out how to fix it. Maybe I will need to move the track in tighter, I was just woundering if this is a common problem, and if there is someone out there who has fixed it before, and what they did. Thanks,
Derek

I had the same problem. Very very anoying isnt it. Well what I did to fix it was that my window motor blew and I needed a new one. I just replaced the old motor. There is a adjusting bolt that the window connects to the bottom part of the metal bracket that hold the window on. You can adjust the angle, or what ever with those 2-3 bolts. I think thats how you do it. Its in my Haynes manual so Ill look it up when I find it. Hope that helps.

Hey thanks for the advice, I have a Haynes manual too (almost a neccesity for anyone with a DSM) so I will be able to look that up, I must have missed it the first time. Thanks!

Has anyone else solved this problem by adjusting this bracket that BacknBlack talks about? I have the same problem on both sides, very annoying... I read somewhere to use silicone lube on the window tracks, but can't figure out exactly how to get the lube on the tracks w/o taking the door panel off (which is how I was told I could do it). In any case, should I just be able to adjust this bar w/o replacing the motor? The window still goes up, just not straight...

I know I know, holy old thread rehash...on my first post no less!

For the silicone, lower the window and spray it into the tracks. Raise/lower, spray. Do it about three times. Don't go crazy with it, but use some. Use only silcone spray, not WD-40.
Porsche people use Wurth rubber lubricant, but it doesn't last and must be re-done three or four times a year.

OK, this is what I'm asking (again, dumb question) - by "window tracks," are we talking about the rear part of the upper door frame, which the window slides into while going up? Or are we talking about what the window slides on (parts inside the door) when going up/down?
