40 dollars? OUCH.

I paid 30 for my greddy and I thought I was getting ripped off.

well they cost 69 bux brand new from machv, and that is the only place i have found that sells em, so 40 seems pretty resonable to me for one that is only a few months old. I was gunna get that 22 dollar one from machv, but i just love the evo ones for some reason and he happened to be sellin his so it worked out pretty well i think.

Dust out your change slots.

I did, that pic was right when i put the knob on, we were still in the process of finishing up puttin the head on my car, so the whole car kinda got dirty, but soon as we finished puttin the head on, i clean the crap outta it. now the knob looks nice and shiney, and no dusty coin tray. but thanx for lookin out

it looks exactly like a 2g shift knob...whats so special about it

That knob looks good in there and at least you got it cheaper than Mach V's. I bought the OEM heavy leather shift knob instead. But I find anything better than the stock 1g's.

i never said anything was so special about it. If i thought it was sooooo special i woulda wrote some long a$$ thread about it, but all i did was show a pic of it sayin HERE IT IS. Didn't go on talkin about how insanely awesome this thing was. I just think it looks clean, not outrageous, just fits well with the rest of the car i think. And no it doesn't look like a 2g shift knob, get ur prescription checked

here's a pic of a 2g shift knob

still look the same?

It's the same exact thing as the LEATHER 2G shift knob.

Which totally fell apart on me because the baseball stitching was dying.

they underexposed the pic so that's why it looks grey, but they still are not the same as the evo one. They are heavier than the evo one, and they are not the same design what so ever. They both have stitching on them and are both leather, but that's about the only thing that's the same. anyway its this is a stupid thing to argue about. they are different, period. and i like it, im happy with it, and that's all i have to say about it!

Didn't mean to make you so upset...geez.

No your picture of the evo knob, and your pic of the 2g knob do look different. But from the way your first picture is...maybe it is the lighting...I don't know. That knob looks EXACTLY like my shift knob.

I never said it looked bad...looks fine

buh bye

There's a new factory EVO knob that's a brushed round Aluminum knob - blue or natural color - about $70 from Mitsu.

that is the one my buddy got, he got the brushed aluminum one, and that's why i got his old one. And im not mad, just the way u were like OK BIG DEAL, ITS JUST LIKE A 2G ONE. And the way the other dude is like OHHHH ITS AN EVO ONE, THAT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE. just annoying. i never said it was a big deal. anywho ya, i smell like a horses a$$ so imma get in the shower.

I didn't say OK BIG DEAL - the 2g knob is a big improvement over the 1g knob IMO - the EVO knob looks like another improvement - $70 OR $40 is a RIPPOFF though - I'll say that.

easy guys...just drop it...

Me612...how do you like the feel of it? Does it fit well in your hand? The stock shifter feels pretty good to me, would you say this one is better?

I've got the Evo knob too.

I actually bought it for $69 at MachV.com, as i have a bit of money to throw around.

I HAD to replace the horse-#### 1g shiftknob, for sure. I only came upon the evo knob when i was at the mitsu dealership, and i sat in an evo and pretented to shift throughout the gears. The evo knob feels great imho. Its REALLY light, VERY small...as in the ball can easily be clenched inside your palm. It has a really great shift feel to it. Thats why i had to get one. Theyre kind of pricy even from MachV, but its ok. And btw, the ones from the dealership are much more expensive here in Chicago. I asked for a quote on the brushed aluminum ones, and mitsu quoted me at 130!! thats honestly a wee bit too much for me, for a shift knob.

But yep. its a great feeling shift knob, and im glad i got it.

nah i wasn't saying u did, i just quoted u cuz i was sayin my buddy got that aluminum knob u were talkin about. i was talkkin to al5dsm and 13secGST about the whole BIG DEAL THING, didn't mean to confuse u. but ya, see i drive my buddies evo all the time, and ever since he bought that car, i wanted one of those shift knovs because i just love the feel of them, and they look clean too. not fancy, just clean. plus i didn't want a metal one because from my experience metal knobs get really cold on cold days and really hot on hot days. so the evo one was ideal for me, and since they are 70bux new, 40bux to me was not a rip off. plus its nice because you don't have to sit there and use some universal plastic screwing coupler or some aleen screws to keep it on like most aftermarket ones use. its already made to fit our shifter so it just screws right on, doesn't leave a gap between the boot and the knob. just looks nice and clean, and that's the way i like it

Me612, I think they are pissed because they would rather see you rice it up a little more, I mean look at the board you are in - the Non-Performance board aka The Ricer board. They are just pissed because it's not some super bright huge over the top shift knob that can barely fit in your hand and is too big to allow you to shift right. Stupid ricers.

Very odd. And with all those junk yards with all those Hondas, Datsuns, and everything else you could get for a couple of bucks. The Evolution knob doesn't have anything on it to say it's even from a Mitsubishi. Still, there's no arguing with you liking it. I'm just baffled by it all.

On 1g's, the evo knob threads on natrually, but it doesnt sit all the way down. I've got a wee bit of gap between the boot and the knob..I think some loc-tite or something sticky will help it though. otherwise, i dont really mind. I saw some evo pictures in SCC and there was gap in there too, so maybe its the cool thing to do

I dont see what the big deal is? If someone wants to throw money at an expensive knob, so what? I've got the evo knob, and one of those 80 momo knobs as well. For those who say "oh! thats almost 160 you could have put towards bigger IC piping" or whatnot...so? i sure could of, but i chose not to. Personal preference, you know?
