i want gsx doors on my gs

ok i know this has come up a few times and i was just wondering if anyone has actually done the swap yet. if i get a pair of red gsx doors that are equipt with all the power accessories will it just plug into my gs. i know that my gs has the wiring port when you take the doors off bercause i have taken them off and seen it. i know that there is a relay for the power doors under the hood and i know that i have a fuse for right and left power window in the fuse box by the kick panel but before i go out and get me some doors does anyone know if this will work because i desperately want power options and i don't like the look of the aftermarket kits i would much rather spend the extra money and go get some used doors. any info would be greatly appreciated. don't tell me i'm the only one who would do this.

MY gs came with power windows and locks what else does a gsx have that I dont? :laugh: This definately sounds like it could use some research but I dont think someone would be up for paying the amount of money that it cost to purchase both doors to find out... I dunno tho.

yea well my 96 gs came with no power options and i want em so i dunno. if anyone else has some insite i'd appreciate it.

You can get GS, GS-T, or GS-X panels with power options. I doubt you can make it work very easily though without a wiring harness from one of the cars equipped with power options. I have some GS door panels that I plan to install sometime, but I'm not sure how all the switches work out and all. I do have to get a power window kit first.

Now I'm not trying to sound sarcastic or anything, but why don't you guys just sell your N/T's and buy the higher trim that you want? 97 RS's and GS's can fetch a decent 4-5g's where I'm at, and you can find a decent 95 GS-T or GSX for around 5500, or 6, or even cheaper if you find a 95 Talon TSi/AWD. Not to mention you'll get a turbo along with all your other features.

It can be done..I have a 97 RS that im planning to do power conversion on....All the cables are already there minus the wiring from the door to the relay.....which can be aquired from the used the door......If you check your cars..you'll notice the relay is prepped for it..even giving you the Fuse for both sides.....im almost done purchasing all the parts from crashed eclipses/talons.....when i've installed them...ill let you guys know...

Yeah most definately...Remember our cars and the GS/GST/GSX models where under the same assembly line with all the same wiring.....For example....if your does not have Power side mirrors and/or des have fogs....Pop out the cover to the left of your steering wheel where the swtiches would be....and you'll notice that the wiring for them is already there.....As with the power windows and locks..its the same thing....the relay box is there for it....all you would need is the door panels with all the motors... then wiring from them to the relay...after that just adding the proper fuses to the fuse box.....

Its not an easy task....But in the end its well worth it......Good luck with that...let me know how it turns out....

BTW..There isn't a difference between GS,GST, & GSX door panels...the only possible difference you'll ever find...is that some may come Cloth around the arm resting area surrounding the Door handle and lock that would match the factory cloth design found on the seats.....& that can happen with any of the doors from any of the three models....not only with GSX.....

Anyways, power windows suck. The controls always end up falling into the door panel due to the shitty interior design. I've got a '97 and a '99, and both of the control boxes fell in the door multiple times, despite being repaired by Mitsubishi themselves.

I just added power windows to my wife's 95 RS without any issues. I'm also adding power locks. I have the door wiring installed, the solenoids/latches are installed and so are the switches. What else is there? I have been looking for the relay, but can't find it. Do I need to get the wiring for it too, or will it be there already?

Anyways, power windows suck. The controls always end up falling into the door panel due to the shitty interior design. I've got a '97 and a '99, and both of the control boxes fell in the door multiple times, despite being repaired by Mitsubishi themselves.

MAybe don't punch em so dang hard and it wont happen. they are held in with screws to the door panel it self which is plastic.

106k and not one switch issue, though I did have to tighten up the actual window mechanism one time at about 98k.

OK with both of these post's that I quoted Im confused a little, and need some help with clearification. If I get the GSX doors with power option's is it simple plug the harness connector from the door into the corresponding plug in the car, or do I need to run some wires, and do some soldering?

Any definate help will be very much appreciated.
