Do radar perimeter motion sensors really work?

I found one on ebay here...

I was wondering has anybody ever tried one of these? I just want to keep the loiters away. I work at a car dealership and I get a lot of that. I am not too woried about the interior one. I am guessing that it wont actually sound the alarm for the exterior unless interior is violated? Thanks! Also I will be hooking it up to a K9 Classic Alarm that I just bought.

Adjusted correctly...

But you don't want it too sensitive, otherwise it will set the alarm off too often.

They are not radar, the work off capacitance, so they are heavily effected by mounting location, anything metal around them, and window tint. But they do work, that one looks kinda shitty but for $10 you can't lose. Its a dual stage, so its has 2 perimeters/zones and 2 outputs, the interior zone/output sets off the alarm and the exterior zone/output sounds a warn away(usually a couple of chirps or sounds the alarm for a couple of seconds) if your alarm has a warn away input.

Yep the K9 has the warn away input. So where would perfered mounting location be?

I've had the best luck mounting them in the armrest(as high up as you can get it).If you have metalized(UV protection) window tint, that will cause problems on the external zone.

Ok thanks I don't think I am going to get one anymore. I have solarguard window tint and that might cause problems. Defiant - LOL your guess is as good as mine.

Most alarm companies offer aux. motion sensors as an option i think-- i have one and it works fine in certain situations. for example if you park in the busy part of a parking lot it will piss people off, and if you set it too high the full alarm coud go off. (dual stage, 1st beeps) also is annoying if it happens every 30 seconds because it pages my remote.
