Hey i was wondering what prep work you have to do to paint the rear mid piece on your taillights. Ive seen some pics of people that did it and I think it looked awesome. btw, dont freaking tell me to do a search because i did with 15 different words and didnt find that much info.

So the paint will go right over the plastic? Both of you cars look great :dsm: 9D9 looks like you put alot of work into your car

Hey Man,

The simple easy way is to have someone use vinyl that matches the color of the car. I had mine done in silver 3M for 25.00. Just thought i would let u know. Let me know if you are still interested in this. i can have a
guy do it for me and he seals the edges wtih clear silicone. looks awesome. I have had mine on for a year and it shows no sings of fading or coming off.

Just take it to a local body shop and they should be able to paint it for about $50. Or if you can find some Duplicolor that matches your car, try it yourself. Remove the center piece and wet sand it with about 600 grit. Prime, paint, and clear it.

thanks for that input guys. forcd4 im going to see what i come up with around here and i might take you on that offer.

the dealer even thought it looked better apparently. If you ever see that ad that says, "It's not exactly a ferrari. A ferrari doesn't even have dual cup holders" you will notice the red car jumping thru the air has a painted centerpiece. OMG
I haven't seen a car with a painted center that didn't look 100x better.
