What do you guys think of kickpanels in a 1g?

I can get the qlogic kickpanels from best buy pretty cheap, cos i work there.

Is it worth it? Or should i just mount my stuff in my doors?

Im not ready to fiberglass some kicks yet. Not till i have GREAT speakers to put in. the elemental designs components i want dont come out till 6 months or so, and i'll be getting a TRU amp then.

FOr now, i'll probably be getting some fosgate components, and a matching fosgate amp, cos i get it for a great price at BB

Its a step down from my Alpine/ MB quart setup, but its only temporary

I think you will cramp your legs, but the imaging would def be better, you could throw the tweets in place of the 3 1/2 too, that's what I did and it's got a crisp sparkling sound with plenty of bass and bite. But I still have stock front speakers. I think they sound nice cause they have a warm bite about them. I would see how much space it took up first before I made a decision.

I'd definitely get kicks...SQ is all about pathlength, pathlength, pathlength! Deadening, sound shaping, etc. is the easy part, haha. How cheap can you get the kicks for? If they really are cheap, I'll send you money for a pair so I have something to use while I work on my fiberglass kicks And drop me a PM when you get your comps and decide to do fiberglass/develop cancer

What is in your system right now? And which TRU amp are you planning on getting? Ever hang out on Elitecaraudio? Later!

hmm. Kicks it is.

I forgot which tru amp it was, was it the T.100.2? Something of that sort? I know its the little 2 channel amp that does 100 x 2 @ 4 ohms.

I used to own an e12a, and an e12k. Only thing i havent owned is the O. ha!

Right now i just have some Phoenix Gold Titanium stuff laying around. a Ti 800.1 amp, and a pair of Ti 12" subs. Cant put them in my talon cos the 75a stock alternator is still in. Im not going to attempt killing it. Im trying to scrounge money to buy a h/o alt from Dominick. Until then, no.

I can get the Q logic kicks for about 90 a set. Its not crazy discount, but better than the 200 we charge for a set to the customer.

I hang out at ECA all the time, along with CAF, and SIN. I like the ECA peeps. very SQ oriented and just as the site implies, elite. I like that

Hehehehehehe, yeah, the 75 amp alt might not support the ti800.1 . What I hate is how an upgraded alt for our cars is about $300 and that gets us a 130 amp alt My friend could spend $175 and get a 270 amp alt for his '03 Cobra Not fair at all!!! But tell me more about this alt you speak of...

Yeah. that's the T-series you speak of...TRU's "entry level" (kind of like the 360 Modena being an entry level Ferrari, hahahaha). Dang sweet amps!

The qlogic kicks are flimsy as hell, fiberglass the back side to make them stronger.Their sound quality sucks too, due to the non sealed back.They may have changed since I used them though.

if u do th fiberglass on the back u can seal it all up, depending on ur set up it could make things better or worse. definetly keep the tweeter close to the woofer, it makes a noticable diffrence in how every thing sounds. I had my tweeter up on the dash in the stock location 5.25 in kicks and 6.5 in the doors (diamond hex 3-way) didnt sound all that great till I re did the kick panels with a space for the tweeter, made a huge diffrence for me.

In a front soundstage the mids and tweets should be no more than 6-8 inches from each other, otherwise frequency separation is evident,especially when your crossover points have more than 6db per octave rolloff.
