drivers seat doesnt recline

I recently bought a 96 eclipse gs, and the passenger side seat reclines fine, and all other functions of the drivers seat (manual, not power) function but it doesnt recline or fold forward to let someone in the back seat. Is there any fix for this or will I need to replace the seat?

Not enough info. Is the release lever jammed?

Try pulling the seat out of the car and get it onto a bench so you can work on it. Likely to just be seized somewhere, a good hammer tap and a couple drops of oil should fix it.

The release lever isn't jammed, it moves fine, but the seat doesnt recline or fold forward. After messing with it some more, I found that if I push the seat hard while I'm holding the release lever it will move, so I guess it just needs oil.
