So I had a frayed seatbelt, got a replacement. I feel like I am insane because no matter how I try the belt must be turned 180 degrees (flipped) to install on the hook (the pulley that goes up and down). The passenger side is not like that and is a straight shot with no turns from the retractor to the pulley.

Does anyone have a picture of the seatbelt on the drivers side you can post? It's super easy to pull back the plastic. This is a dumb and obscure issue.

Is the replacement belt from the driver’s side? If the donor belt was from the passenger side, that could explain the inversion.

No, I figured it out. The thing was actually twisted. I thought I was going crazy. A little effort flipped it 180 in the guide and its fine now.
