Exact sizes of 1G speakers?

Searched around and can't find what the sizes of the front and rear speakers for a 1G are.

Could someone tell me, going to upgrade....

Base models got 6.5"s in the back, upper models got 6x9"s in the back. To put any good 6x9s' in the back, you will need to find shallow depth speakers or pound the fender so the magnet will clear.

I have a GS-T so I guess it would be 6X9s....how about in the front?

Whoops, I forgot the front. You probably have door speakers, those are 6.5's, but the hole is big, you could probably fit 6.75"s there. Dash speakers are 4T. Not to be mistaken with 4" speakers. Dash speakers suck btw.

6.5" in the front

Really? Front door speakers look smaller...oh well, what do I know.

My doors were 5.25" the the dash were 4T.
The door skins and speakers aren't alligned so not only is the grill opening only partually cut out but almost half the speaker is covered.

Steve is right 4" in dash Rockford Fosgate will fit there and 5.25 for the doors and 5.25 for the rears double check the rears they could be 6/9" and whats with the doors shit I had to cut mine out. Just like Steve said they don't line up?

i see you have pioneer rev series, i had those in my front doors, but found it pointless to have them behind the doorskin, because of the alignment problem, i cut new holes in the doorskin, and mounted them on the face of the skin, so that you could see the speaker. unfortunately i sold them i cant get no pics

I like all my stereo stuff hidden by stock covers, keeps evil theives hands out of my car. I still got all the extra aftermarket covers if anyone wants them

You would never Know I had this system. All factory covers were re installed but man this system sound's asome. They did a great job with speaker placement in the 1g cars+ the fact that we have triple door seals help.

just go to best buy, and use the program they have there, tells you the exact sizes

I would but they told member jsigone the wrong sizes. I was just hoping someone would know the EXACT size speakers for front doors and rears.

yes 5.25 doors
and you have a gst so you will most likely have 6/9 in the rear

The only way your going to know for sure is to check them yourself. The DSM community has tried for years to figure out exactly what went in which but there have been too many exceptions and it changed from year to year.

If you have either the factory CD or the casette w/ equalizer radio then it's most likely you have the same thing I had. 4T in the dash, 5 1/4 in the doors, 6x9 in the rear. The dash and doors are wired in parallel.

i just bought 6.5" for my doors on saturday and put them in tonight
mine is 90 tsi
i have 6x9" in the back

I took apart my 91 gsx today and learned I have 6.5's in the back. Does anybody make a bracket for mounting 6x9s or should I just hit the local pick-n-pull. I was hoping to use the speakers I had bought for my previous car.

I'm sure Gary at Mitsubishi Graveyard in NY can help you out with the factory brackets for 6x9's. http://www.mitsubishigraveyard.com/
Are you sure that your existing speakers will fit one you get the right brackets. There isn't a lot of depth for the magnets and it would be a PITA if you switched and then they didn't fit.

Yes, I did a test fitment. They'll fit perfectly if only the hole in that bracket were a little more oblong. Mounting depth was a concern in my last car as well.
