I don't like the tailights on the 1g Eclipses, its the stripe, plus the stripe was faded and looked real bad against the newly detailed glossy paint of my wifes Eclipse. So I swapped them with the tail lights from my old 90 Talon that I totaled. I've seen this before, it looks REAL nice! So I did it. For those who wanna do it, its a cheap, inexpensive method to spruce up your 1g Eclipse. I will have pics later. And now....some tips
First off, this will NOT work for any 92-94 Talons, unless yoy are planing not to use the center section. it will work with any 90-94 Eclipse or Laser.
You'll need a 10mm wrenk/socket
In my opinion the 90/91 are the best factory 1g tail lights to use.
After installing them on my Talon I saw that the outer bulbs would not go straight into the tail light assembly, so I took the bulbs out the eclipse and cut new slots where the notches would fit in the talons tail lights and reinstalled them, takes about 3-5 minutes.
The eclipse rear fascia is shaped a little different then the talon, so the lights aren't flushed with the bumper. You have to cut the bumper a little, not much work. Very easy.
