do any of you 1g(or 2g) guys have sagging headliner? well i do, its sagging just a little... i have the headliner/carpet adhesive but is it an easy fix or do you recommend gettin it done, how much would it cost? i just hate takin to other ppl to get it done.. they always f*ck shit up..

If you try it yourself, go easy on the glue .It can soak through the headliner fabric and look like shit

I was redoing headliners for $80 shipped. Unfortunately, I'm out of them. I typically, had most colors available.

Pic below of one I sent out.

well i have a question i have a 2g and the headliner is shite. i have burns and the bad part is the previous owner put a ghey after market moonroof in it and they idiots doin the install messed up and it looks like they streched out the fabric to match up but you can feel they cut the cardboard short. where or what should i do with this.. cause it looks crappy and it needs to go.

$80 for a new headliner I gues isn't that bad if you don't have to send in a core or send in your's to get redone. I got my headliner recovered by a reputable shop (one of the more expensive ones in town) for about $30-$40. It turned out beautiful. Redoing one yourself probably isn't that hard, but I had several other things being done as well. If you're scared about taking it to a shop ask around. Ask other custom car guys where the best place is. One more thing. Don't be afraid to pay a higher price if its done by a well respected place.

Take a look at this, and decide if you'd rather drop ($80?) cash at an auto upholstery shop:

I have no idea what it costs for an upholstry shop to do this. I did my own (and my first) nearly five years ago and have had no sagging issues. I do use a different adhesive than the one listed in the link, so I have no idea how long that particular one works. The one I use, we discovered it's "adhesive characteristics" on our solar car we built for GM's Sunrayce. Good enough to keep solar cells on the solar array at a speed of 65mph!!

Given I've watched and seen an average of $40 for a USED decent headliner on trader. Junkyard? Expect to pay $30 to $40 for one with dirt spots and fingerprints in it. I figured that $80 with no core charge wasn't so bad for a refurbished one that looked as good or better than new.

One of them I did, was out of a 94 Talon, that was not the typical styrene foam. It was a layered cotton with a thin fiberglass layer. I honestly put 6+ hours in that one cleaning and prepping it to put material on it. PAIN IN THE A%&. If you considered my time is at least $10/hr. =$60 and the material will cost $15-$20. So, did I really make any money on it? You do the math.

No. MIT hasn't run in Sunrayce since 97. And I don't beleive they have ever run in the American Solar Challange (ASC), that replaced Sunrayce after GM bowed out. For that fact, I don't think they have been in any rayces (<<< if you are a solar nut, it's how ya spell it) since Sunrayce97 in the states. And there have been few:
Sunrayce 99
FormulaSun 00,01,02,03
ASC 01,03

They have competed in the World Challenge in Australia, from Darwin to Adelaide.

It's a hoot and I'm forever hooked. Biggest brain sport in the world. The challenge is to create the fastest, most energy efficient car that uses less power than an average hair dryer. Teams now are running at highway speed limits for entire races in traffic (65mph)

Anyhow, this is getting off topic. maybe I should create one in the hangout?

How hard is to do the headliners w/ the sunroofs on 1gs? It seems that the fabric is covered by the plastic ring in the middle around the sunroof.
