I want to put a LCD display in the double din stock radio location.
Using for my Lap top monitor.

What brand will fit in there.

I don't want a pop screen, plus I don't care about an audio system.

My car rarely driven and mostly use as a race car.

you can only put a 12 in' screen and the best brand would probally be a compaq becuse there thin and have a better viewing quality

Uh huh...Well, MY 1g won't take a 12" LCD in the center console. I would suggest getting a small Audiovox or similar LCD that will take up most of the space and using a VGA - RCA converter to get an image. It will probably only let you do 640x480 but with a screen that small you don't want much more resolution anyway, you wouldn't be able to read anything.

BTW, In My Opinion Compaq is the worst of the "Major" PC companies. Crappy Video setups that steal ram rather than dedicating memory (A real crime considering that 64Mb of pc100 ram is $1 online) and proprietary motherboards that fight with any non-compaq drives' boot sectors. I stay away from all things Compaq.

or ya could do somthin like i did ----

I cut 6" monitor into the passenger dash, but if it's something you'd need to see on the fly, then may be it's not a good idea...
