:D Ok..I got my HKS US Spec turbo timer...now I am wondering where to put it. I do not want it on my steering wheel stalk.. I was thinking of the panel I made right under my stereo, next to my SDS fuel ratio meter. But before I do..I thought I would ask

If i personally was to get one i would mount it in the glove box. That way its not a distraction when you drive its out of the site of theives(this is the important one), and you don't need to mess with it after you have it set up the first time. But under the radio is a good place to put it also.

Actually, I have the HKS TT Type 1, and one of the reasons Ibought it was because of all of its metering functions, and you want the timer to be close for that. ANyways, here s a pic of where I mounted mine.

ya the reason why I got mine for for the metering functions "speed"max speed, 0-60,60 ft, 1/4 mile, ect" so ya I wanna have it close. The place where you have yours, does the shifter get in the way?

I put mine above the center vents...I cut a spot in the dash, and it looks good. I have an A'PEXi Auto-Timer, so it's about the same size as yours.

It's easy to get to, but it's not noticable from a distance. It doesnt get in the way of anything...If i had my scanner still, I'd post a pic of my new interior I just did, there's a pic of the TT installed in with the pics.

Good luck on your choice. :thumb:

:D Ok.., I got it in and it works great. Instal was smooth and clean as always!! hee hee So I ended up puting it under the top stereo din. So on the left I have my SDS fuel ratio meter, then in the midle is the turbo timer, then to the right of that is the red covered switch for my turbo XS dual stage boost controller. I was worried the shifter would be in the way, but it does not. Looks great, I will try and get pics up soon. Thanks for all the advice everyone. And thanks for the space dsmtuners!!

why not just put it on top of the steering column.... just use some double-sided sticky tape

1 because i do not like the way it looks...looks like some just put sticky tape on there and slapped it on

2 it is kinda bright on dark roads

3 it is kinda hard to get to it going through the steering wheel, where it is at now i can hit it with my hand next to the shifter

Another cool spot in a 1G (if your not using or have the metering functions) is to put it in side the rectangle "coin" holder. I saw someone mount it in there and the door still closed on top of it and you never knew it was there. That's where I'd put mine but mine also has the metering functions. I'm putting mine in where the ash tray goes along with my HKS SAFR. Both of which are HKS and will both be in easy reach. It'll require some creative mounting but I think it'll look good. That and I don't smoke!:D

I have a greddy turbo timer and I put mine in the ash tray (2g car). I just took out the ash tray and started cutting it up and had to make the rectangle shape a little longer and the turbo timer fits right in. plus since the ash tray is sitll there or maost of it, the little door or whatever oyu want to call it that you open up, the lid, is still there so I can close the lid and you dont see anything. if you want to mess with somethign , open the lid and the timer is right there. id put a pic up but i dont have a digi cam. illt ry to get a pic up soon

Blizz92tsi- I dono if you saw that on my car, but that is where it is. Here is a pic. It was easy and simple to do.

Hey turbo 1307,
I don't remember whether it was you car or not. But that has to be the coolest and one of the most stealthiest places I've ever seen to mount one. Its almost like that spot was made for it. Either that or a boost controler or something like an HKS VPC, GCC, or SAFR. Your install looks really nice by the way. What did you do to hold it in place under the top of the console? Thanks for responding. Keep up the good work!:thumb:
