Besides the obivous, between the two fabrics of body kits, what differences are there between poly. and fiberglass, because i know that fiberglass can break easily which is a bad thing cuz i live around the DC area which is filled with pot holes and cracks everywhere, so im leaning towards the poly. body kits but the blitz body kit is the only kit that i like. unlike fiberglass which has many more designs. but i heard poly. wieghs more than fiberglass since its rubber like. but how much more? I would like to know the difference from someone who actually dealt with the two, not from someone who is guessin, so the info would be nice, cuz i like fiberglass for the designs but hate the easy cracking and breaking, and like poly. for being unbreakable, but hate the sagging and limited designs, and also from what i hear wieght!

you basically listed add the differences. why are you conserned with weight?

100lbs=.1 in the qtr. mile.

its prolly a 20lb difference. its a dumb thing to worry about. almost as dumb as buying a carbonfiber hood for weight reduction.

And if you said the blitz kit is all that you like, the blitz kit is one of teh few that i have found that are completely polyurethane. If you are worried about sagging, which it has to be extremely hot for.( living in myrtle beach, 100+ degree weather in the summer, my friend hasn't had a problem yet.)Put a support brace through the front of the bumper if you are worried about it. Weight isn't a big factor either.

No, what im sayin is i like the blitz kit for poly. fabric, but there is alot cooler ones that are only made for fiberglass, so thats why im struggling at which to pick for? which would all you'll get?!

Alot of times it comes down to how much you want to spend. Fiberglass is dirt cheap while polyurthane can be up to two or three times more expensive. As long as you dont hit something really hard w/ your fiberglass bumper it will hold up. If you take off a chunk in a pothole or something, you can mold it back on (sometimes). I've had a Fiberglass blitz kit for a few months, and I have no complaints. I bottom out (hit pot holes etc..) and just hte paint on the bottom of the kit gets scracthed the kit doesnt actually get affected.

I havent had winter yet so i cant comment on how the cold affects it.

I ahve the blitz kit with a poly front and fiberglass rear, pics are in my gallery. I live in WI where it nice and cold, my kit does sag under the head lights and under the middle on the bottom. and I have it braced on the bottom. it was a pita. I am in the process of finding a fiberglass kit. all the fiberglass on my car are molded on and they take one hell of a beating and hold up great. I wish I would have known that in the begining becasue I would have done the whole kit in fiberglass and saved my self the time and money. oh and dont buy a really really cheap kit, youll pay for the diffrence in body work making it fit

Your front doesnt look like it sags to bad to me.Also why dont you just make another brace or two for under the headlights if it bothers you.I have had my fiberglass blitz front end on for a little over a year now and its almost about time to get another bumper.

In my experience, the poly will warp. No matter how you brase it it will warp somewhere else. The fiber glass is simple and rugged. If you break it oh well time to glass it back up. Check out importfan.com 's blue class nose. They hold up good from what I hear compared to normal glass. The cold will make them break eaiser. I just buy a cheap old blitz nose and brace them up with more glass to keep them from breaking. When they do either fix it or oh well buy a new one. I have extras laying around.

Yeah thats very true.... fiberglass front ends (esp. blitz) are hella cheap. If you break your front (the part that most likely to break) its almost not even worth fixing it (if you cant do ityourself). Just go on ebay purchase one ... shipping is cheap on just the front too.

A decent fiberglass body kit can be extrememly durable. I've rear ended another car doing about 15mph before and nothing happened but some surface scratches. Basically it comes down to ou get what you pay for. I personallyprefer fiberglass for it's mere simplicity and versatility.
