92+ cruise control on 90-91 car?

I was thinking relocating my cruise to firewall, but it seems the cables will be a bit too short and it'll be mounted at a weird angle, due to the early cruise box design.

Then I looked at 92+ engine bays and was wondering if I could use 92+ cruise control on a 90 car.

Anyone know? Anyone done this?
