I need some input...

I have a Sidewinder 6500 ESP alarm/remote start system in my car. This alarm is made by DEI, who also makes the Viper, Hornet, Python, etc. Has anyone ever started having a problem with their transmitters? I've changed the battery in each, and the LED's on the remotes light up bright so I know it's not the battery. The range on them both is really quite poor now; and they don't seem to work real stable (I have to push the button a couple times in order for it to work). One of the remotes has to be held right up to the windshield in order for it to work. Before I go Ebaying for new remotes I want to make sure that is what it is exactly. If anyone has any knowledge what-so-ever of DEI's (Directed Electronics www.directed.com) systems, or has every experienced transmitter problems, please let me know. Thanks.

Sounds more like it's on the receiving end. Does it have an antenna wire?

By the way, I have checked the antenna wire. It is secure. I reprogrammed the remotes and now each one only works if I hold it right up to the glass where the antenna is mounted. If I hold it near the actual unit under the dash, I get nothing... so anyone?
