Interior Water Leaks threads [Merged 1-7] leak leaking hatch sunroof drain drains
It was pouring out today and when I got in my car after work the whole headliner was wet and water was dripping all over the interior. Anybody else have this problem and how did you fix it?

Clean the sunroof drains, four total, 1 per corner. Make sure a drain tube hasn't fallen off, or a wasp put a nest in the end of one.

Leaking sunroof...drano to clear drains?
Hi everyone,
The sunroof on my 95 Talon is leaking. Someone on this site mentioned earlier to clear the drains at each corner of the sunroof. Sounds easy enough BUT the sunroof is in the way. Is there a easy way to clear the drains? Can I pour "Drano" in the holes or will that harm something? Thanks for the help guys!

I noticed my drain tubes had kinks in the hoses which cause a major blockage for dirt. It packed itself in their pretty solid. Best bet is to take a day off and pull your car apart, dislodge anything thats stuck and unkink the hose if necessary.

Just use soap and water and a wire to help gently dislodge the blockage. Drano is corrosive.

No drano! That would be bad for the hoses. Not to mention one mistake where it goes somewhere its not supposed to be and you get a bleach mark, or a corrosion mark. Soap, water, and a good amout of pressure, and check for kinks. My tailgate drain hoses were kinked.

Drano bad. Simple Green from the top, fairly soft (such as solid copper) wire from the bottom. It's probably a dirt clog, or perhaps a bug got in there.

wet floor mat?
Tonite when I vaccummed out the car. My passanger floormat is wet in the very back near the seat. I looked for leaks in the dash and the AC is draning properly. The mat does NOT smell like anti-freeze. Looking for some help on what could have caused this. I let the car run with the AC on and watched it drain outside the car underneath. Any Ideas????
Hasen't rained in a few days, have been using the air.to and from work (30 miles each way)!
Please help.
Also I pulled the carpet up from behind the dash and it seems to be dry and nothing looks wet at all.

no I didn't spill anything. I'm just thinking maybe it was from the Air condition evap. I think that I'll pull out the batt. and look at the drain tube tommorow after work. Also could my moonroof be leaking and showing up at the floorboard only? where are the drains for that? and what's the best way to clean them.

The roof has four drains, one to each wheelwell. Use stiff weed whacker line to clean them out, from the top.

Interior Water Leaks threads [Merged 1-7]
I have recently noticed that after large downpours there has been some water in the hatch area. I have looked over the weather stripping stuff and it looks to be in good shape. The only other thing I have heard about is the sunroof lines and there are also some vinyl lines that look like they drain water from around the sides of the hatch. Can anybody think of anything else that would cause leaking?
Can someone also explian how to go about cleaning the sunroof drain lines? Thanks in advance.

I used to have a leak in my hatch, water would get in the spare tire area and under the backseat. I dont have a sunroof , but my problem was a clogged drain line. Take a wire coat hanger, and unwind it to full length, and stick it down through the hole, on the sides of the hatch next to the fenders. Thats what caused water to get in for me

Better than a coathanger, try some big-gauge weed wacker line.

Thats how I noticed the leak also. I was going home from work one night after terrible rain and started to reverse out of a parking place, as I looked to see where I was reversing I saw all this water come in the car. These leaks are a hassle since I am building a sub box right now.

I used an air compressor with a sprayer nozzle on it to clean mine out. Didn't have to worry about scratching anything and really blew all the leaf parts and tree seeds out of there in a hurry.

I went and looked to get new drain hoses today by matching it up with the vinyl stuff at lowes and auto parts store, but its an odd size (7/16 ID.. I think). So I came home and soaked the lines in bleach to get t | |
