Im going to get a new hood for my 99' GS. I had the preditor hood but one day when i was driving it flew up and shattered my windshield and snapped the hood in three places. So now i need to get a new hood and im kinda stumped on which one to get.

I was thinking of either getting the Carbon Fiber OEM hood, or the Carbon Fiber Preditor Hood? So what im asking is for your opinion of which hood would look better on my car. pics of my car are in my gallary and if anyone knows of a better hood for my car let me know. Pics of both hoods are at www.aerogear.com. Thanks for the help

That website is stupidly made..... good products, but stupid web development..... ne ways..... Both hoods are nice..... Personaly I would go with the OEM hood, but if you like to stand out a little, go for the other one.

Dont forget your hood pins :thumb:

did you get any warning before it happened. Like hood rattling, making noises or anything? I don't want that to EVER happen to my hood

no, i had no warning signs at all.. it happened liek 100 feet away from where i started out from......i came to a stop sign, made a right turn, and when i was gaining speed (i was only going like 35 mph) it just came flying up and shattered my windshield inot my face. luckly there was no one infront or behind so nothing else happend rathere then the windshield and hood break...........best bet is just to get hood pins now

Do you guys think that the oem cf hood would look good on the way my car is styled....to see check out my gallary....thanks

From what I have heard, yes you do. As a precaution for every CF hood, hood pins should be used.

I think it is because the hoods have more flex to them and at higher speeds air gets undernieth them causing more force on them than a steel hood. That even though they have an OEM latch it can rip away more likely than a steel hood because of the flex in the material.

I just got my VIS cf hood and I don't use hood pins...it worries me a bit though. But like ^^^ said, you should use hood pins.

My vote goes for the OEM style cf hood
