Well, I finally got off my lazy a$$ and took all the yellow out (missed a few things in the pics but have since redone them). Man was that the worst thing I ever did to the car...pianting things yellow inside. Someone should have slapped the can from my hands!! Anyhow, I finally did my airbag cover and got the whole lower dash completed. Console panels and kick pods plus door sills are back in. I made my triple pod with blue kevlar and carbon as well as the AFC pod and matching passenger pillar. Everything else is just black CF.
Next is the rear seat panels and window surrounds plus the dash. Then the doors and I will rest for awhile. Most of it is replacment...only things laminated is the armrest and glovebox...of course the dash will be laminated. I am unsure about the door yet. That will take some planning.
Anyhow, I posted pics in the gallery under "theboogieman" so you all can check it out. Right now the car is sitting having valve body adjustments done. I have a Level 10 tranny and Protorque TQ in it.
Let me know what you all think. Yeh, I know it isn't some folks thing...all speed. If it helps I ran 13.3 @104 with a 1.9 60' first time out before the tranny mods. Thats a sm16g on an AT!!!

Got CARBON FIBER!?!?! :D That has to be the most carbon fiber I've ever seen in a DSM interior. I really like how you took your time with the rest of the interior. It looks nice, even, and very well done. I'm glad you're getting rid of the yellow. Every ricer out there seems to have yellow splattered everywhere like it was going out of style. That just adds to my yellow = horsepower ricer theory. Did you make all of the carbonfiber stuff yourself? From what you said it sounded like it. That gets even more props from me. My only question is are you going to leave the outside green when you get your body kit put on? Keep up the good work and I can't wait to see what else you make out of carbon fiber. :thumb:

I lied. I have one more question. Are you going to redo the headliner and visors in a different color so its not such a contrast? Carbon fiber maybe? Just kidding. The car maybe out of commisson for a while but when you get it out again its going to look awesome, and it will have been worth it.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Yeh I did it all myself in spare time between making everyone elses parts. Other than a dash kit I think this is also the most carbon I have seen in a DSM...except LoTalon, I heard he redid that dash all in CF.
The headliner and visors will be black also....the whole interior will eventually be black and CF/Kevlar. The seats and door panel "inserts" will be a normal material though to keep some comfort level and matching the seats...which are also going to be replaced with black seats.
Right now I am doing the dash, I was going to go wild with built in guages and such but now I just want to get it done so only 2 built in guage pods and maybe redo the AFC slot. I will post pics while I am building it up.
The outside color is going to be different but still in the familly of greens but alot richer and more depth. Kinda' keeping that under wraps for now. I am also going to paint the car myself. Worst that can happen is I have to have my buddy redo it :( But if I succeed it will be so much sweeter. Hell, I spray gel coat and clear all day long sometimes. Can't be much harder.

I noticed in your profile it says you work with composites. What do you do and do you make parts for DSMs? Everything I've seen so far looks really good. If you're not making money making CF parts now it looks like you could.

I don't like it... Although I think that's mostly from that baby blue, which is as bad as the yellow.

Eventually that will be gone too. I am shooting for a solid black interior if I decide to get rid of the seats. I did that yellow and blue combo when I was new and broke :) At that time I knew nothing about composites.

I started out just doing DSMs and a few Honda/Acuras. But in the past 3 years I have worked on just about everything! I 'll see if I can post the picture of the Lotus Esprit I did for the "President of Lotus America" down in Melbourne. Has 3 Esprits, 2 of them show cars.
Also the Eclipse/Talon in the Polk ads, Kenwood and ADR Wheels I made parts for. If you have seen Mortis's car on MachV he is also sponsored by us. Right now those slots are filled though..(i know someone will ask)

For total custom work it depends. Right now I am NOT offering dash cover though till I finish the one for the shop car. Mostly what I offer for DSMs is on my website...just put a .com after carbonwerks.
Yeh, some people get sticker shock and think I am out of my mind. But then again it is not for everyone. Taste vary according to budget they say. But when you call around to price having molds made at other shops then you'll get an idea of the $$$ involved tooling molds and such. More labor intensive than materials. Just depends on what you are looking for I guess. I think Nick puts out an awesome carbon fiber lip and I just purchased one from him...YOU CAN NOT BEAT HIS PRICE! I would charge more, so would alot of other shops. Hey, I am not beyond buying it for my car if I can't make it or have no time too. Orders keep me super busy being that I am a "one man" shop. Here is a picture of the cutting room. Pretty basic room and serves the purpose.

Sorry Ed. I am usually pretty good about answering all emails. Not even once I answered to at least say "not at this time"? My apologies man!
I will be offering a cover that does just the hump and down the side. It will look great with the dash kits that cover the front and it will be 2x2 twill. This part will be bagged though rather than just wet lay up. I think it will look much better that way.
Probally won't be for a bit though till I finish. I am about 30 days or less away from finishing my dash. That is my main goal now. But for cost reasons and time limits I will only offer the hump cover to the general public. i am thinking about offering it in Kevlar but I hate the edge that kevlar can SOMETIMES leave. Email me again Ed and i will fill you in on it in more detail.
Basically I just am showing off the interior...if business follows that is nice...but not my intentions on this one :)

Good idea but i am going to at least resin them instead of using it as raw material. The UV will slowly break down carbon fiber if it is not UV protected. So if I just use it and uhpolster the headliner and sunvisors it will just be a matter of time before it breaks down. I know...the headlinerwoun't see much sun....but it will be enough over time.
But yeh, I am going to do the headliner and something different for the visors.

Nice business you got going there....wish I had the know-how to get into something like that. Car looks good, even with the blue...it's very clean. Keep up the good work!

WTF dude..An 8 year old thread being brought back to life.

If there was enough interest,I wanted to get a group buy going on the 1gb CF spoiler. But I doubt there is.
