I was taking apart lights one day to see if I can install bulbs inside the center piece to make it light up uniformly with regular tail lights and discovered something interesting.
The center piece (90-91 Laser and 92+ Eclipse, don't know about other years and modesl, haven't taken other years apart.) is the same exact transparent plastic as tail lights, but painted "silver" on the inside, making them non-transparent.
I was thinking taking slow dremel to the inside surface and sanding the coating off, then wet, fine-polishing it. Spray inner piece with "chrome" to create a reflection, install bulbs, and voila, center lights up just like the tails.
Anyone done this or know who's done it? Did it turn out ok? Look good?
Anyone has contributing ideas? Tips? Want to take a bat at my face? ( )
