Yes you do have to trim the stock bumper. I used a dremmel to shape mine up, took me about three hours for the procedure.

The bumper or the bumper cover? Do you have to cut anything structual?

Im pretty sure they mean the bumper cover. I doubt you will be able to leave the bumper and bumper support brackets in with that large of a FMIC but i do not have one so dont quote me.

If you decide to keep the 5mph bumper which is right in behind the bumper cover you will probably need a sawzall to shape it. I decided to leave mine off to help save on weight and time. Good luck!
