Anyone modify their stock seat so it sits lower? Struggling to find enough headroom...if I lay back G-style I can't reach the wheel as easily as I'd like.

I removed the roof lining and it adds a lot more headroom.

Completely? So you've got the bare metal showing? Seems a bit ghetto, but it might be possible to make it thinner I guess.

just take off the seats and use a pillow.. Tada! You are done.. J/K.

Ghetto? All million dollar race cars run bare metal/carbon. How is that ghetto? Are you saying a car that costs $850,000 is ghetto?

and race cars bare metal is styled to be shown, not any type of regular car is. That's why you pay 1 million dollars..

I dont know what under the headliner lookslike, but i would think it would be uneven and just blah looking IMO. Have holes in the metal for the clips and crap.

So it would look ghetto, but if it works then do it.

If you're talking about touring cars they're the exact same as regular street cars.

Yes. Fast and safer in fires, but ghetto looking. Obviously it's expected in a race car, but bare metal showing in the interior is pretty ghetto in a street car.

So you're saying the Ferrari F40 and F50 are ghetto?? Those are street cars BTW.

Got a picture? Is it bare metal, or does it have all the clips and bracing and stuff like most cars do when you take off the headliner?

Dear igs,

If you drive your car on the street, and it doesn't have a headliner, you are as dumb as those guys with Mom's Accord who gut the interior in order to "save weight".

But then again, you "shift" an automatic.

Please educate yourself before posting and sounding like a complete moron. Those cars have no interior whatsoever. No carpet, no panels, not even ####ing door handles. You close the door by pulling on a string you attach to the door.

IGS, you have to admit that the inside of the car *looks* better with the headliner. Now, it may not be as light, or functional, but, after all, this is the non-performance forum. But, turbohappy, I have to agree with igs about removing the headliner for more headroom. That is really all I can think of, other than reclining the seat.

There's actually quite a bit of room between the headliner and the roof. You can remove the headliner then cover the roof with carpet or astro terf. You will gain a lot of room and you won't see the painted (not bare  ) metal. :thumb:
