There has been quite a few threads on this ( i actually research), and there has been many requests of pics for 1g's with roof scoops. Some have been posted of 2g's but i have yet to see one of a 1g with one. And for the rice patrol #u<k off! Yes we realize our cars are front engine, yes we realize they create drag if not vented/functional, and yes we still like them so if your not here to help go to engine performance. As for you who are interested in roof scoops lets see some pics and links. I am looking for a nice wide one that isnt very tall. Know where to get one?

Dunno what happened but post got cut off. As i was saying....The rice patrol can screw off. We know our cars are front engine, we know they create drag if not vented/functional, and we know that you KNOW THOSE ARE RICE! So if you aren't here to help to go the performance section. As for the rest of you, lets see some links and photos of 1g with roof scoops. Personally i am looking for wide and not very tall scoop. Any one know where to find a nice one?

No one has any pics of 1g's with a roof scoop? Feel kinda bad that i have to post again to keep this thread alive but i am interested to see how it looks.

I've seen one so far, yes only 1 out of the years I've been into DSM's ....so there is 1 out there and I remember seeing it in a post (DSMtuners or DSMtalk, can't remember) and to me it looked pretty badass at that, so I know there is one but i'll look for the picture, sorry I can't help you out at the moment

My AC went out and I've toyed with the idea of taking it out and making a functional roof scoop, but it'd probably be more money than it's worth.

This maybe a noob question, but i am farely new at the idea of roof scoops. I was wonderin if sum1 could explain briefly what their purpose is, and maybe the basic constuction of one. My talon is under construction and it maybe sumthin i try to do. Again sorry for noob q.:dsm:

Well i have the drift kit for my 90 talon that i am putting a turbo motor in and was thinking that a roof scoop may look good with the kit. I believ there are another couple 1st gens in town with the drift kit so i am looking for somthing to set it apart from the rest. I have also toyed with the idea of making it functional but i think it would be hard to do it without water leaking in while closed or collecting in it and pouring in when you opened it. That and i really dont think i have the balls to go sawzalling a big hole in the top of my car =).

Dj2sox...A roof scoop is just like a hood scoop. They are mainly used on rally or race car (cars that dont have a/c) in order to direct air into the interior of the car so that the driver can stay cool. They are also used on mid engine cars in order to direct air to the engine for cooling purposes, but in our case they are purely for looks.

I did the turbo conversion and I didnt keep the A/C to get some extra power from the engine, so I'm really considering that roof scoop for air into the inside idea, I want to thank you so much for that idea, it'll look great and actually have a function:thumb:

anyone know where to get a decent looking roof scoop? One like the scoop on the eclipse in.....oh do i have to say it............the fast and the furious........*shakes head and walks away in dissapointment of self*

both scoops, but not what i am looking for. I want something not very tall and fairly wide. Like the one on the eclipse.
