Ok I am ready to get my box built for my system. Im running one 12" Eclipse Titanium with 2 MA Audio Caps and Eclipses 2000w amp. Thing i cant decide on is how to design the box. All I know is its gonna be fiberglass sealed.

I dont want it to take up all the room in my trunk and access to my spare would be nice also. Any pictures and ideas you guys could give me would be great. Will even supply pictures of the final product once its done.

Thanks,

Since you want access to your spair theres not really much you can do, but maybe you could fiberglass maybe two ten's into each corner of the trunk and cut your carpet and board to fit around them....just a thought???

Well the thing is though I am only running one 12" sub. Access to the spare would be nice but not a must.

Well this car is my daily driver so I am keeping all the seats intact. Any other ideas? Anyone have pictures?

How big of a box does the 12" Eclipse Titanium need?

You should be able to build one between the rear shock tower that is big enough to hold the sub.

I built the box pictured below last year to fit 2 12's in an isobaric configuration taking up only .75 cu. ft. But I no longer use that. I switched and built a box for 2 10's between the shock towers now.

You can go HERE for pics of my current setup and the process of building it.

Here the old setup I had that you may be more interested in with your 12" sub.....

I bought all the componets of my stereo off the internet at www.onlinecarstereo.com and www.hookedontronics.com for a total of approximetly $1200-$1300. That included the following:

Alpine Type-X 6.5" Component Set
Alpine Type-R 6.5" Coaxils
Alpine MRV-340 Amp
2 - Alpine Type-R 10" Subs
Alpine MRD-500 Mono Sub Amp

I built the box out of both MDF and Fiberglass and installed everything myself.

How did you get in contact with cloud nine?

Cloud 9 Customs is the car club I belong to. You can find out more information about the club at www.cloud9customs.com

Here is a pic of my old set up.. It holds 2 12" JL W3's....
Hand laid fiberglass on top of trunk lid with two sealed tubes underneath the subs, so it's NOT free air set up... The subs pound like a mo-fo!
Nice deep clear bass when music is on too..

You still can lift it up and down, just like the original lids can do..
That way you can still get to the spare tire ;)

The problem I am seeing with that trunk lid setup is that my strut bar is in the way.

Someone who could create a box like that could also make it possible for you to keep your strut bar with the box. Even it if required creating a tunnel through the box for it.

You are right, becuz I don't have a strut bar and it will be on the way...

BUT....like what dsmnate said.. There is plenty of other ways to make it so the strut bar will go through..

Anyone else have any ideas? I would even appreciate pics of your current setup.

Build it into the corner using the inner fender well for enclosure space.

Sealed tubes? Did you cut into the trunk lid?

if you want an idea...check out my gallery...i got 2 12's...u can set it up like mine but just have 1 sub instead of 2

Hey bro I really like your system alot? What did you use for the grey finish? it looks so stock, i love it, im gonna do that with a slight variation, amp will sit next to the sub and caps on the other side so i dont lose spare tire access.
