Stock CD player. Cd-r

I can not get my stock cd player to play cd-r's is there a specific program or procedure that anyone has found that works? Are there any cd-r's that will not work? Please let me know.

see if you can get a 92-94 stock cd player - mine played all burnt cds with no problem - might be able to find one at a junk yard. . . ?
