Hi, my valve cover is in pretty bad shape, not physically though... It just looks like crap. Anyways, I want to paint it red. I was wondering if that high-temp brake caliper paint works fine, or if I should get it powdercoated? Also, how much does powdercoating cost? What is the advantage over the high-temp paint? How long does powdercoating take to do?

You can paint if you really want it will last, there isn't much heat on the valve cover. If your looking for something different dupli-color makes those fancy paints you see in the paint isle (usually 2 or 3 cans together) . My buddy did his Honda valve cover in the candy red which was 3 paints and it looks wicked. The same color red as the powder coating that AEM uses on their Red intake's which is a really nice looking red.

i painted mine. it came out real good.
