I am going to try this out when I get some time. My car is Monarch Pearl Green and I have black primer, black paint, and a simlar green paint that I will be using to re-paint my interior.

I am wondering if you guys think it will look better to paint the inner headlight housing with a green that nearly matches my car, or if I should just leave it black? (Since I wont be using much of the green paint I bought on my interior, should I try it in my headlight housing?)

Should I primer it, and should I be using the same paint? Do you guys know how many hrs it takes to dry?

IMO, i would just paint it black. I dont think it would look very nice if it matches the body color. I didn't use primer. I used a flat black thats supposed to be used on BBQ's. So, it's a high-temp paint. I dont know if you really need a high-temp paint, but i had some extra laying around. It took maybe 10 min or so to completly dry.

BTW, who's sandy?

I think I will try green and if it doesnt match well, just go black. I can take pics of both and see what you guys like better.

Who mentioned anything about Sandy?

I tried this mod last night. I must say, it turned out very nice and overall didn't take too long. 75% of the time I spent was getting out the headlights themselves. JEEZ But I used a red high temp paint and I like the finished product.

i did this mod, and it turned out great

BUT

do NOT turn the oven up to 300 degrees like the faq says. this is WAY TOO HOT. turn it to 220 degrees and leave it in for a little longer. this way you dont melt off the bottom plastic brackets like i did.

this is IMPORTANT!!

Just a q,,does anyone have pics of a black car with hte orange piece removed..97-99? I would like to compare to stock look and see hwat I can do about mine....SInce I cannot have my orange on al the time(swedish laws) I think it would look better with it out...just want to see how it looks first:)
So a pic of a black(preferable)97-99 front with the orange plastic piece removed..please? *smile*
