Well... I've got a body shop working on installing my replacement rear blitz kit...and they tell me today that the new one will NOT fit with the rear reinforcement in place.

The old blitz kit i had on there does actually fit perfectly with the reinforcement in place... They're both fiberglass... but obviously from different shops/molds.

I got this new one from Extreme Dimensions down in southern california... looks, feels exactly the saem as the old one, but it's too narrow by about 1-2".

What can I do? I haven't seen the reinforcement up close yet, but my first instinct was to just modify it so that the bumper could fit...

On a happier note though, they were actually able to fit a factory front bumper over both my FMIC AND the reinforcement... so that's helpful. Think I'm going to give Extreme Dimensions a call and bi*** them out for a few mins. =-\

Umm... so either people hate me for having an RS... orrrr... no one in here knows wtf they're talking about orrrrr third option.... not a single person in here has a blitz rear??

LOL

Until three weeks ago, I would have agreed with you wholeheartedly.

Except... three weeks ago I rearended a slut in a Camry. bi*** slammed on her brakes for absolutely NO REASON. I slid a car length and a half. Had nothing but front bulkhead, hood, and FMIC to take the impact.

Fortunately, there was no damage to the FMIC. But my hood, bulkhead, radiator mount, headlights, front bumper reinforcement ate it.

If I had a solid bumper reinforcement on there, the damage to my car would have been under a hundred bux to nothing...

So... .. don't tell that to me... Heh.

And... what happens when someone rear ends you, work is done by a legit shop that notices the fact that your car does not have a complete rear bumper, an INCOMPLETE/unsafe rear bumper... and more damage was caused as a result of this... they're gonna tell the insurance and you wont get your money!!

Body shop is asking me to sign a waiver that releases them from this sort of liability, they may not even be able to do that tho.. =-\

I don't care what Car and Driver says... Camry back seats are NOT conducive to comfortable sodomy.

I agree with you Tom, got my rear blitz from Aerogear (blue color), and it fits perfect! Still kept on the bumper reinforcement.

a friend of mine had a problem like this on his cav and all we did was "trim" the edges off the reinforcement. So instead of having a square edge it now has a 45 degree angel edge. DOnt know if this will help you or not but hope so.
