i started lightening my car and i took out spare tire, jacks, tools, my sub. the sound deadener is this weekend. i was just wondering what would be a good weight to be around (if you know)? i know its an odd questions, but a friend wants to know this. thanx

The curb weight of your car is rated at 2,855 lbs. I think that mistu skimped on some of those numbers though because I'm pretty sure dsms are heavier than that. But anything under 2800 lbs is better than nothing.

want to share the steps to getting rid of the sound deadner? I took out my back seats but I doubt that helped much. Also took out my winsheild washer fluid. My friends make fun of me, but every little bit helps.

well, from what i've heard, you have to let it cool and it will break apart in chuncks. i heard this from someone at buschur. so, with that knowledge, im just gonna wing (sp?) it.

a quote from someone over at buschur:

a guy from my local dsm club has everything on a chart.
spare tire 34 lbs
tools/jack 10 lbs
aircan 3 lbs
passenger seat 35 lbs
back seats 32 lbs
rear speakers 6 lbs
stock radio 7 lbs
front carpet 18 lbs
sound deadener 34 lbs

I would look at the Lbs/HP of cars you truly dig (in my case, the Porsche GT2) and shoot for that level.
