ok so whether this works well or not it looks badass
i went through the same process for the 2g's of taking out the reflector part and painting that black...
although the 1gs are different because they only have 1 reflector part i still painted it black....
the lights project worth shit... no good for being able to see.... able to be seen is no problem, but make sure you have fog lamps for driving....
anyways bad typing and illfated instructions aside here are the pics....

Sorry, maybe I missed it, but why? It looks different, but was the time and effort worth the final product? Hmmm... I guess where I'm from seeing at night whats on the road is slightly more important than looking good.

its worth it....
doesn't take that long plus i didn't have anything to do....
also my fog lights compensate for city driving....

yea i got some pics here... just be warned if you don't have fog lights or driving lights get some.... I REALLY like how they look, makes the front end look a lot more agressive... the pictures give it a little mercy tho... they are very dark at night
while youre in the car you can barely see the lights
oh and i have hi and lo eurolite lights

just standard lights

hmm, maybe i wont do that, i dont have fogs, took them off, id rather go for visablity than looks, i have an extra headlight i might try it on

You may want to consider instead using a special smoke paint called VHT Nightshades from Summit Racing for $19 shipped. It says you can paint the outside of the lense but light will shine thru. I got some for my CF tail center section piece that I lit up (custom) so it would look black to match my car but still show the red lights I installed.

what fogs are on your car, cause it looks like they light up alot of area, WAY more than just the headlights.

well when the reflectors are painted on the inside pratically no usable light is spread in front of you from the headlights.... enough to be seen but not to see.... but i just have stock foglights and it works fine for now maybe get some hella driving lights in the future

CA, I think I did something similar to you, but your links no longer work:( Can you update the links in the above posts???
Thanks!
