I want to know how to change the HVAC control backlighting from orange to blue, and also how to change the backlighting on the tripometer to white. The orange to me looks drab. I think a few people on here have done this, so any help is appreciated.

hey i've read alot about the conversion and actually im in the process of doin it slowly but surely.. i have already changed the guages to reverse indiglo's with the intelli-glow needle kit. im bout to get my pics up here in the next few days. but i kinda took pics along the way. to change the lights on the side like the cruise and fog's isn't alot of work.... u have to unscrew the black trim ring around the guage pod and it will expose most of that area. all u have to do is reach around and "pop" it out, there is a clip on the set holding it in is all. just undo the connectors and it's all good from there u can open it up and change the lighting to blue.. the HVAC lights are alot harder. u have to take apart ur center console and unhook your radio. and also i have heard u have to undo the stops on ur glove box not sure why but that is what someone said. u slip the HVAC out the bottom through where the radio is and seperate the layers on the gauge. When i do it if u want i will take pics all the way and try to make a how-to. i just have to wait for a nice day outside cause it sucks not having a garage. specially when it' snows outside in the middle of april. there are only a couple lights that light up the center console and they are a pain to get to but it's up to u if it's worth it. just something else to make ur car unique. it's inexpensive but very time consuming just so u know. but if u or someone else wants that guide just let me know... or if someone already has done one let me know thanks

Actually, you don't drop your HVAC... you twist out the light bulb from the back center/right area, much like the bulb in the steering column. That one bulb lights up the entire HVAC. If you replace it with a bright enough LED, and angle it to the left, you only really need one to light it pretty evenly. However, if you choose blue, the heater side of the temp control will not light. If you want though, you can drill into that far right hand "chamber" and pop a red LED in. I did, and it looks awesome. I broke/kicked out an HVAC from a junkyard to practice on though. Helped a lot. I'll post pics if I ever get the time.

IM me if you have questions about any of the conversion, wiring the rest of the interior up for lights, etc...
