ok, i tried searching, but no matches came up. does anyone have a diagram or something on how the reservoir is laid out? basically, when i bought my car, my buddy took this out. he gave me the reservoir, a long tube and a shorter tube. im not sure which goes where though. can anyone help me with this?

well, it's a tube about 2 foot, a smaller tube, and then the actual reservoir with the washer pumps mounted to it.

does anyone have a manual that they could scan for me? my car is in pieces & i would like to put it back together :(

This is all the manual says, for what it's worth:

Disconnect Negative Battery Cable
Remove left side quarter upper and lower trim panels, then remove the rear end trim, rear side trim, and liftgate upper trim.
Remove the washer nozzle
Remove the joint assembly and the tube assembly
For turbo vehicles, remove the tube assembly and remove the spare tire.
Unfasten the retainers, then remove the rear washer tank and motor.
Installation is reverse of the removal process.

Good luck!

ur da man :thumb:

ok, now my question is this....is the washer tank in the rear for both the front & rear wiper? reading that diagram, seems like its only for the rear wiper.

also, when u guys all have ur panels in, can u see the tube that comes out of the panel to the washer tank? and the tank is sitting under the spare tire? looks like in the diagram, the washer tank motor is in the rear fender. but mine are attached to the washer tank itself.

I wonder if the single washer fluid tank is a US thing but I have a front washer fluid tank as well as a rear washer fluid tank, furnishing the respected sprayers. My motor is also attached to the tank as well.
My car is a 1995 TSI AWD as well so I am wondering if there is model differences.
tlnpower do you have an underhood resevoir for the front wipers?

nah, i dont have a tank under the hood. just the one in the back. i've been trying to get all this hooked up, but i dont know what's missing when they took it out originally. i hooked everything up, but it still isnt working. so im just going to leave everything out. OMG

How strange. The Americans have 1 tank on the AWD, both Talons and Eclipses. It's under the spare wheel. Are you sure yours is factory?

can you take a pic of it.... not that I don't believe you but just strange. You sure it's not your overflow your thinking of???

DoH!
Turn's out I need to get the car out of storage and actually look under the hood, it's only the 1G's that came with two washer fluid resivoir's, no wonder the 2G run's out so quickly. I figured that the Canadian cars had 2 resivoirs since we drive for 11 1/2 months in the snow :D

you guys have any ideas why they wouldnt spray even if the resevoir is full and the "pumps" are pumping?

The rear works, the back. Nada.

Thanks!

Yes, I have the same problem. It worked when I bought it and stopped one day. Tried a different switch and no difference. We may want to start our own thread on this FiReBReTHa.

Kinked supply line, nozzle or supply line jammed with mud, bug guts, wax, etc. You might try compressed air into the nozzle.

Too bad you guys don't have a Spyder. You could rig something up to route all the water that leaks in through the rear into the space between the trunk and the back seat into the washer fluid tank :sneaky:

I think I have that already!!!!

I've had my spyder over 2 years now and have never filled that tank once,it actually still looks full and I use it quite often...someone must've done that before I got it,haha.

I want to get some plastic toy boats to float around back there in the "aquarium"...maybe some goldfish, haha.
