Putting Power Windows in a non-power car [Merged 5-8]

Would I be able to go to a junk yard get GS, GST OR GSX doors and interchangeable? And if they do, will the out side door panels be interchangeable

yes,they are interchangeable because its the same door basically,you could use the outer skins of yours on the power doors,might be easier just to paint the GS doors.. also you'll have to run a power source to the doors. i'm not sure about the wiring though,to control the passenger side from the driver side,you'll have to look that up,talk to the dealer maybe.

has anyone done this? i'm pickin up all the stuff of a guy for cheap and im gonna give it a try but i was wonderin if anyone has done it before and hit any problems.... i think that all i will need is the switches, wiring harness, door panels and lock and window motors. i have a 1g

its easy in theoryu..but the actual work is forever long...i did this on a VW fora friend...took about 2 weeks

haha ya man i started tonight and its a peice of cake on these cars! i needed the latches, lock actuators, window acutators, the harness that plugs in under the dash and the switches...well i got the whole panels. you also need the power window relay which is under the hood besides the battery. thats the piece i didn't know about.
hooked everything up in like 2 hours, tried it and it didnt work! looked at the wiring diagram(thank god my dads a mechanic and has a wall of manuals) and found out i needed that damn relay! so right now im using the headlight one but only during the day....haha
got everything for dirt cheap too!(40 CANADIAN!!!)

nope,
you need relays and everything.

I own both a 2gnt and 2g tsi awd. The nt has no wiring going to the door, so if you swap the inside panels, you wont have any way of hooking it up. plus you need the motors and gearing and everything.

But why couldnt you buy the spal power window kit off of ebay?It comes with the motors and wiring and everything.Then couldnt you just hook that up to the oem witches on the new door panels because the spal kit says it fits any car.

I put an aftermarked power window kit on a 510 a few lifetimes ago. It worked alright, it was just a motor and control box that mounted over the crank stub.

will the GS+ door panels fit over the crank "stub?" I wanna put my switches in the middle of the car or something and have GS+ door panels. How tough is the install?

Also, where do you buy a SPAL kit besides EBAY? Or is Ebay the only option?

I have a 97 Talon ESI that came with manual windows. What is the best way to convert manual windows into power windows? I was thinking about getting a power window kit, but I want it to look clean. I am looking at getting the factory door panels with the switches. Have anyone ever done this and was successful?

I'm in the process of gathering parts for this at the moment, I know a couple guys over at 2gnt.com had good experiences with SPAL window kits so that's what I'm going with. They're like $90 shipped on ebay. You can either get them with aftermarket switches (not very clean imo, have to find somewhere to mount them) or go with stock door panels and switches which is what I'm doing.

From what I've read, you'll need all the associated door panel hardware plus the wiring harnesses for each door and the power window relay which I believe is located behind the radio. The SPAL kit has all the hardware, wiring and directions for install so it makes it pretty easy.

if you have a custom sound and design shop in your area you could/should have them do it for you. they'll get everything you need and install it cleanly for you. my friend works at 1 out here in chicago and just did 1 on a car, he said it ran the guy 350 for both doors but that also included power door locks. anyway good luck.
