Don't know how this dent got there but it's driving me nuts! Anyone have any ideas for a temporary fix until I can buy a new bumper? I've heard of the heat gun and I tried a hair drier for a while but it didn't really work. Also heard about dry ice? Has anyone tried dry ice? It's not metal but maybe it'd work.

It's the dent in the bottom center of the mouth of the bumper, it's a little dark in there.

Do you still have the support brace that runs underneath?
Just an idea but get it flat, get a length of aluminum angle (1/2"x1/2" should work) at HD or lowes and rivet it to the underside then use spray foam to fill just area. Shape to fit.

No I'm pretty sure there is no support brace in there.

Would I put the aluminum angle inside the bumper, like under the dent? Where would I just spray foam (the expanding foam stuff?)

I like where this is going!

My car had a couple of pretty severe dents in the urethane bumpers.

HEAT get a heat gun like you use to strip paint, it is a LOT hotter than a hair dryer so you need to be careful. Put some blocking on the inside of the dent and heat the outside.
You may have to pull the bumper off to get the shape exactly right. If you do, heat it from the inside a lot less likely to ruin the paint.

Yea, I'll see if anyone I know has a heat gun I can borrow and I'll see what I can do. If it doesn't work then I'll try what I THINK gixrman was saying haha

or if you have a halogen lamp point it at the dent and let it sit for a while it should take back to the normal shape i used that method to fix a huge dent like a crater

I've used a hair dryer to pull plastic bumper warpage/dents, make sure to hold it or brace it until it completely cools, take your time and it will come out nice.

I guess my old hair dryer doesn't get hot enough haha I've sat out there with it for 10 minutes and the plastic still isn't moldable in any way. I'll scavenge for a heat gun and give that a go.

Cool I'm really excited to get that nasty thing out haha I'll post pictures when I actually do it!

I'm giving the heat gun a try this evening and if it doesn't look how I want I think I'll try the piece of aluminum, and then if that fails I'll buy a new bumper haha

Alright so I used a heat gun a while tonight and no more sag! The dent is a lot smaller but I managed to burn off a piece of paint somehow.. I'll post pics later
